Located in the historic Bastakiya (Bastakia) quarter, this museum opened in the 1970s and remains one of Dubai's most important. The serene courtyard alone is worth the visit, though the real treasures are found inside. The displays cover a myriad of artistic work including textiles, glasswork, ceramics and paintings. A prominent collection of Indian and French furniture is also on display.
